Grindrod Logistics entered the dry bulk transport sector in 2007 with the purchase of 10 bottom discharge units, to be used for the transport of agricultural commodities.
The fleet has since been expanded to 55 units, with both side tipping and bottom discharge units in use to serve both the agri and mining sectors. The fleet is active in the entire SADEC region, with all the main corridors being serviced.
The division also offers regional distribution services of bagged agri products, with its specialized fleet of 24 trucks, made up of 8, 12 and 34 ton Tautliners.
The division’s Head Office is in Alrode, with depots in Nigel and Pinetown.
Investment in new fleet to increase operating capacity will continue during 2009.
