The Furniture Division is a transport, distribution and supply chain service provider to the manufacturers, importers, wholesalers and retailers of furniture and décor products and is operated from facilities in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. The fleet consisting of close to 100 vehicles, ranging in size from 140cbm line haulers to 10cbm panel vans, delivers to all the main hubs in South Africa. Our staff compliment of 275 people is skilled and experienced.
Having serviced the furniture industry for the past 17 years, Boltt Grindrod (formerly known as), has built a reputation for being specialists in the following areas:
1. Traditional point to point services on a charter basis
2. Distribution services on a groupage hub and spoke type network, ranging from door to door to hub to hub services
3. Home and retail delivery services
4. Warehousing

Distribution
This is a groupage or “break bulk” type service operating on the hub and spoke principle. While our service is always primarily offered to the furniture industry, certain high volume, low mass cartonised products are also transported.
Specialised Services
This service is made available to clients who wish to outsource their warehousing, dispatch and distribution processes. We may also contract to complimentary distribution networks operated by other operators, should the need arise.
Management Services
These support services include financial reporting, human resources, procurement services and fleet management.
History
The furniture division was established in Cape Town in 1990 by Deon and Linda Augustyn – styled Boltt Removals. Initially only domestic removal services were offered, but the business soon expanded to become a distribution network servicing the office furniture and hospitality industries. In 1993 the Johannesburg branch was established and the acquisition of Reids Transport in the same year provided the infrastructure in Kwazulu Natal.
During December 2004 Grindrod acquired a 50% share in Boltt Removals which resulted in a name change to Boltt Grindrod.In July 2007 Grindrod purchased the remaining 50% shareholding of Boltt Grindrod.The company now trades as Grindrod Logistics – Furniture Division, in keeping with the rebranding of all the Grindrod Logistics operations.
