Grindrod Tank Terminals is a division of the multi-faceted Grindrod South Africa, which has rapidly grown its land based operations over the last four years. Grindrod Tank Terminals is an independent liquid bulk operator that has managed port side bulk storage and transit facilities in the strategic ports of Durban and Cape Town. These facilities have provided crucial services to the market for over 80 years. Our combined facilities cater mainly for storage, handling and distribution of various chemical and vegetable oil products. We are responsible for distributing +/- 480 000 tons of product per annum into the South African domestic market through a purpose-designed fleet of vehicles.
Our business strategy targets sustainable opportunities that enable an accelerated investment program, both in terms of acquisitions and resources. In 2008 we purchased a 50 % share of a vegetable oil terminal in the port of Maputo in Mozambique. We promote long term associations with stakeholders, translating their core business drivers into internal processes and operations, to deliver strategic value into the supply chain.

Our initiatives are inspired by our vision to develop a tank terminal network in strategic locations focusing on South Africa, East / West Africa, the Middle East and the Far East. These facilities shall target Blue Chip clients within the petroleum, petrochemical, chemical, vegetable oil and feed grade product sectors.
